

Iris Cherry a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother, friend and faithful servant went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 26, 2017. Iris was born December 27, 1956 in Fort Worth, Texas to Nathan and Irene Hill. She attended Poly High School where she was co-captain of the drill team. She attended East Texas State University graduating with a degree in business. Iris worked for the U.S. Postal service for 35 years up until her passing. Iris was always ready to share a laugh, a story and never met a stranger. She was the life of the party and was always telling jokes. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and served in many capacities. The lives of those who knew and loved Iris were enriched by her life. She will truly be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Irene Hill; grandparents, Raymond and Erma Wright and cousin, Brian McCullough.
Survivors include loving husband, Arthur Cherry; children, Burshauna Hill (Nikki), Robert Cherry (Tasha), Candice Cherry, Rochelle Conklin; grandchildren, Brenia Scroggins, Mason and Kaylee McCullough; sister, Sondra McCray (Gerald), Janice Wilson (a special friend who was like a sister); sister-in-laws, Pamela Thomas and Patricia Jones; aunt, Mary McCullough; cousin, Raymond McCullough; nephew and nieces, Tijuanna Cunningham, Rashad Love, Dontae, Amber, Tiffany, Justin McCray, Nathaniel Mitchell, Jr. A host of relative and friends.
A visitation for Iris will be held Monday, July 31, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 2951 Evans Ave., Fort Worth, Texas. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 1:00 PM, 2951 Evans Ave., Fort Worth, Texas. Interment will occur following funeral service at Laurel Land Memorial Park, 7100 Crowley Rd, Fort Worth, Texas.
