JAMES STEPHEN ALLEN, 59, passed into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, April 2nd, 2017. It was the desire of his heart to meet Jesus face to face, and to see his daddy once again. He is rejoicing in Heaven today!
Steve was born on October 15, 1957, in Snyder, Texas, to James Monroe Allen and Ruby Nell Hunt Allen. Throughout his childhood, the family lived in Snyder, Abilene, San Angelo, Big Spring, and back to Snyder. He graduated from Snyder High School in 1976. He attended Western Texas College and Hardin-Simmons University
Steve married Susan Lee Andrews on July 29, 1978, in Big Spring. They have a beautiful daughter, Stephanie Marie Allen, who is the light of his life.
One of the greatest joys of his life is his grandchildren.
His profession was in retail management, where he was appreciated for his fairness and hard work ethic. His most recent manager commented that if she had all "Steves" working for her, she would not have any problems.
Steve and Susan taught a Sunday School class for 4 year olds at Lamar Baptist Church. All the kids loved "Mr. Steve" and his humor and unique way of teaching them about the love of Jesus. Prior to this, he taught a men's Sunday School class. He enjoyed hobbies including model airplanes and guns and ammo. He enjoyed teaching Susan how to shoot a pistol. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. Beginning with the time of his cancer diagnosis until God called him home, he developed a ministry through Facebook. His humor, honesty and insight was apparent through his deep faith.
