He was born in Chicago on July 5, 1939, to James Thomas Manton, Sr. and Esther Ida Koch.
Jim received a Bachelor's degree from Vanguard University.
He was a member of Moose, Elks, and the American Legion, and had a passion for traveling and riding motorcycles.
Left behind to cherish his memories include his wife Patricia Ann Manton; children Bobby Newberry, Debbie Voss, Lisa Krivens, Shawn Heldreth, Kathy Allman, Jim Manton III, Trina Albritton, Christina Manton, and Jesse Manton; grandchildren Rebecca Clarkson, Stephanie Craig, Andrew Manton, William Craig, Angel Peterson, Amber Peterson, Chris Peterson, Michelle Anderson, Jennifer Anderson, Mark Anderson, Emily Manton, Jessica Manton, Nick Manton, Shan Konfrst, Shawn Newberry, Bobby Dean, Jr., Brittany Newberry, Jennifer Burgess, Trevor Albritton, Jasyn Albritton, Kasandra Cook, and Blake Burgess; and sister Elaine R. Bowdle.
Funeral services for Mr. Manton will be held at Moore Fuenral Home on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 10am.
