

James "Coleman" Rester passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on Sunday, May 15, 1938 In Silver City, New Mexico to Wilbur Wolden Rester and Helen Richards, James was a resident of Arlington, Texas.
Coleman grew up in Clifton, Texas and graduated from Clifton High School. He attended Texas Tech, where he earned a BS degree in Electrical Engineering. He went to work for RCA in California, designing computers for the Defense Industry.
While at RCA, he met and married his wife Ginny, a widow with two children, David and Sharyn. After 12 years at RCA, he went to work for Xerox, and a year later Xerox moved him back to Texas to design personal computers. After 15 years, when Xerox decided to move the computer design group back to California, he stayed in Texas and worked for Abbott Laboratories, designing computer hardware for medical diagnostic equipment, for 10 years until he retired.
In his spare time Coleman enjoyed watching the stock market, owning thoroughbred racehorses, sail boating, traveling with family, cattle ranching, dancing, playing poker and going out with friends. His family and friend will always remember him as an intelligent man. He was known to be the life of the party and was always happy.
Coleman was preceded in death by his wife Ginny, and her Children David and Sharyn Lewis. His parents, and all 4 of his brothers Dick, Bob, Steve, & Larry, and his only sister Helen Ruth.
He is Survived by Granddaughter Lauren Lewis and Husband Johnny Hudnall and their four children Olivia, Elias, Khloe and Marlo. And numerous nephews and nieces.
