

Services for Janis Kay Fry Childress, 55, of Arlington, will be 7:00 pm Monday, May 12, 2014 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1200 Green Oaks Blvd, Arlington. Reverends Brenda Beaver and Linden Damschroder will officiate. The family will receive friends for visitation, Sunday 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington.
Janis Kay Fry was born July 16, 1958 in Fort Worth to James Morgan Fry and Gwendolyn Joyce Chapman Fry. She attended and graduated from Easter Hills High School in Fort Worth and obtained her Bachelor in Education from North Texas University in Denton. She married Garry Childress at Meadowbrook Methodist Church in Fort Worth December 18, 1981. Mrs. Childress was a school teacher and spent the majority of her career teaching kindergarten in the Fort Worth and Arlington districts, including Carroll Peak, Bill Elliott, Speer and Amos Elementary. Janis enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family and pets, camping, boating, dancing and music of all kinds. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, generosity, passion for teaching and love of children.
Survivors include her husband Garry Mack Childress and their two sons Andrew Morgan Childress and Austin James Childress all of Arlington, her parents, James and Joyce Fry, two brothers, Ross Fry of Fort Worth and Jay Fry and his wife Nancy of Colleyville, mother-in-law Doris Childress of Fort Worth, sister-in-law, Sherry Heard and her husband Charles of Dallas and numerous extended family.
