Jerry Clifford Davis, age 93, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, in Arlington, Texas. He was born on December 13, 1932, in Greenville, Texas, to Jessie Clifford Davis and Mary Thelma Lyle. He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Bobby Lyle Davis (July 20, 1936 – August 29, 1938).
Jerry attended Greenville schools through high school and later studied Architecture at Texas Tech, with a minor in design entering into a lifelong passion. Beginning in 1960, Jerry was a self-employed Architect in Arlington, where he designed large apartment complexes and municipal buildings, then in the early 90’s transitioned the business into a family business designing recreational facilities across the country. His work reflected both his brilliant analytical mind and his joyful, inquisitive, and creative spirit. His personal artwork—including paintings, sketches, and photography—reveals a man who not only observed beauty in the world but added to it in ways that touched people’s hearts and daily lives.
Along with building his professional practice, Jerry and his wife, Wanda Jo Davis, built a loving and enduring family. Their 75-year marriage stood as a testament to unconditional love and was built on a faith filled foundation as members of First Christian Church, in Arlington. In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by his son, Kimmel Clifford Davis and wife Julianne, of Arlington, Texas; his son, Mitchell Alan Davis and fiancée Stephanie Sepolio, of Austin, Texas; his granddaughters, Aspen Marie and husband Adrian Unkeles, Marcy JoAnn Davis, and Danielle and husband Zachary Stout; his grandson, Chase Davis; his great-grandsons, Levi and Jacob Stout; and many treasured friends.
Jerry had many interests, including photography, golf, fishing, snow skiing, and racquetball. He approached each with a balance of striving for technical mastery and simply enjoying life. He also shared with his grandchildren the simple joy of a good book—often science fiction or fantasy—a cup of tea, and the company of someone dear.
Jerry is not just remembered—his creativity and passion live on, woven into the lives of his family and into the venues he designed in Arlington and beyond.
