Joan Dale Harris Allspaugh

Joan Allspaugh, 94, of Arlington, Texas, passed away March 18, 2017. Visitation will be Saturday, March 25, 2017 from 3:00 to 4:00 pm at Moore Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 pm at Moore Memorial Gardens.

Joan Dale Harris was born April 27, 1922 in Birmingham, England to Edward James Harris and Beatrice May Roebottom Harris. She married Wilbur Dale Allspaugh on January 30, 1960 in Texarkana, Texas. She took great pride in becoming a U.S. Citizen on August 21, 1961. Joan was a devoted wife and homemaker. She loved shopping, flowers, bingo, and caring for her two birds. Her grandchildren always brought a smile to her face every time they would visit. In later years, she loved her time spent at Fox Run with friends and all their games. The family wants to express a special thanks to the staff at Interlochen for their care.

Mrs. Allspaugh was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Wilbur Dale Allspaugh, a sister, Doris Bees, a brother, Peter Harris, and by two son-in-laws Garland Ray Beck and George W. Welch. Survivors include her daughter Jill Baker (R.C.), daughter-in-law, Kerry Baker, grandchildren: Kimberlee and Aaron, great-grandchildren: Bailee, Noah, Weslee, and Hudson, step-daughters Becky Shadden (John) and Claudia Pearce and step-grandchildren Greg, Jeff, Ricky, Stacey and Tracey.
