Funeral: 4:30 pm Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Moore Funeral Home, followed by interment in Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 3:30 to 4:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
Born on April 5, 1944 to Ruby Davis and Wister Kay, John retired from S.R.O. Asphalt and Carter Pool & Spa, was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching football and baseball games.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Barbara Kay, son Brett Davis, brother Jimmy Kay, and sister Catherine Hayes.
Survivors: daughters Shonda and husband John Carter, Belinda and husband Steve Wallace, and Crenda and husband Dee Hood; sister Frances Copeland; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and his beloved dog, Lacie.
