

Johnny was born March 1, 1936, in McLean to Bill and Coreen Moon. He was raised in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1954. He was married to Twila Faust for 40 years; she preceded him in death July 18, 2009. They lived in Amarillo until Johnny transferred with Bell Helicopter in Hurst in 1988. After leaving Bell Helicopter, he worked at LTV, Northrop Grumman and Vought Aircraft before retiring.
He loved fishing, playing golf, watching sporting events and traveling with family and friends.
Johnny was preceded in death by his wife; parents; daughter, Sherrie; sisters, Billie, Martha and Betty; brother, Earl and sister-in-law, Gerry; and many aunts and uncles.
Survivors: Daughters, Kim Donchak and husband, Don, of Eagle River, Alaska, Connie Waddell and husband, Stan, of Wolfforth, Michelle Padias and husband, Fuji, of Tucson, Ariz., and Melissa Henson and husband, Joseph, of Arlington; son, Johnny E. Moon of Plano; grandchildren, Brandon Day and wife, Lydia, Joseph Samora, Elizabeth Waddell, Lawrence Marks, Spencer Waddell, Holly, Alexander and Courtney Henson; great-grandsons, Josiah Samora and Wyatt Day; sister, Lady Strother and husband, Jim, of Kansas; brothers-in-law, Carl Buchanan of Bakersfield, Calif., and Sam Urso and wife, Leslie, of College Station; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation: Jan. 26 from 6-8 at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Jan. 27 at 3pm at Moore Funeral Home
