My kids were blessed this summer to finally meet their kind Grand uncle in person(Jaime too young to remember when he came to TO for mommy’s 80th). They both noticed that he was always  thoughtful, loving and funny and really wanted to stay longer in Texas to spend more time with all our amazing relatives! We have fondest memories of our tall, handsome, loving, caring gentleman.

My deepest condolences to the Ylanan family. Jose was always such a kind and gentle person during all our years together at Sky Chefs.  Several of us nicknamed him "Toqi" derived from the spanish pronoun "tocayo", a person with the same name as another. Whether addressing him as Jose or Toqi, you knew that you were welcomed in his heart with his warm, quiet smile and that nod of his head while raising his eyebrows.  May he rest in peace.

Jose was a great friend and colleague at Sky Chefs, where I worked with him from 1984-1989. Among other tasks, he was responsible for delivering monthly reports, which he did with dedication, discipline and devotion. He got along well with all his co-workers and was deeply respected and appreciated by staff. I will miss him dearly, may he rest in peace and his family have the fortitude to accept this loss with grace.
