Julia Rivera

She was born on August 17, 1941, in Georgetown, Texas, to Joe & Teodora Castro. She was the 7th of their 12 children, 6 of which still remain. She created a large and beautiful family, and is survived by her children Edward Garza, Toni Janette Grimaldo, Monica Green, Julia Annette Chavarria and John Puente, Jr.

Julia’s love and devotion to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was beyond measure, and the memories of that love will forever live in their hearts. Those who had the honor of calling her Grandmother are Aziza Durham, Carlos & Sophia Grimaldo, Elizabeth Green, G.J. & Alex Chavarria, Vicente & Carmen Kendrix. Those privileged to call her Great-Grandmother are Alexia Garza-Durham, Jackson Durham, Celeste Rojas, Aizlyn Durham, Isaiah Sorensen, Julianna

Grimaldo, Tony Grimaldo, Aliviah Sorensen, Allison Grimaldo, Matthew Grimaldo and Kayson Kendrix.

Visitation will be held at Moore Funeral Home Chapel, 1219 North Davis Drive, on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 5pm—7pm and the Rosary from 7pm-8pm.

Funeral services will be held at Moore Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, December 23rd, at 10am, with the committal service immediately after in Parkdale Cemetery, 701 S. Mary Street, Arlington. Reverend Betsy Randall will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Jackson Durham, G.J. Chavarria, Gilbert Chavarria, Frankie Castro, Joe Paul Cantu, Isaiah Sorensen, Joe Castro III, and Christopher Amaro.
