He was the son of the late James and Georgia Lorrelle Floyd of Abilene, Texas and had one brother Bob Floyd (deceased). He was the husband of the late Linda Floyd of Arlington, Texas - the love of his life - whom he married on November 1, 1979 and cherished until her death, December 6, 2006. His passing allowed him to join her so that they could celebrate their 39th wedding anniversary together. Kenny had a loving and close relationship with his Lord and his favorite Bible Verse was Psalms 46:10 – “Be Still and Know That I am God.”
Kenny was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and was a genuine, loving, loyal and selfless man. He lovingly cared for his wife Linda through many serious illness without complaint while working tirelessly at his job at Frito-Lay for 31 years and 16 years part time at Target. Kenny loved life and people and never met a stranger. He was quick to laugh and ate heartily. He had a particular fondness for coffee and had a cup by his side day and night. He is fondly remembered smelling of Irish Spring soap and English Leather aftershave.
He is survived by three daughters: Mary Angell (Alan Angell, Sr.) of Rosebud, Missouri, grandchildren: Donald Murray, Courtney McKeethern, Ben Angell, Billie Angell and Alan Angell Jr.; Denice Wood (Todd Wood) of Arlington, Texas, grandchildren: Brian Franks, Blake Wood, Kaitlyn Wood, and Jaden Wood and one great-grandchild Conner Franks (Brian); Melissa Reynolds (Jimmy Reynolds) of Bridgeport, Texas, grandchildren: Blake Wortman (Heather Wortman), Jamie Reynolds, Brandon Ragland, Tylissa Ragland, TJ Cole and Jon Cole and one great-grandchild Brolin Wortman (Blake).
He is also survived by a brother-and sister-in-law, Mike and Marjorie Nail of Knoxville, Maryland and their children: Daniel Maxal Nail (Nikki Nail) and daughter Avery Nail of Westminster, Maryland and Michael Ariel Nail (Liz Nail) of Littleton, Colorado.
The family wishes to thank Lillian Ibrahim, RN, and her staff for their constant, conscientious and loving care of Kenny over the last several years. We couldn’t have had more loving and attentive care givers to assist Kenny. We also want to acknowledge Kenny’s fellow residents particularly Don and Gracie for their kindness and caring and to Carepath Hospice of Arlington, Texas for their wonderful care of Kenny during his final days.
A viewing will be held at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington, Texas for family and friends on Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
