Larry was born July 1, 1946 in Omaha, Nebraska to Samuel and Anna McAvin. Larry had a long and successful career as a chef and worked at numerous restaurants hotels, and universities all over the nation. He was also a member of Highpoint Church in Arlington.
Larry owned several motorcycles throughout the years and was a Harley-Davidson fan. In his spare time, Larry loved to cook and experiment with new recipes. However, his main love in life was his family. He treasured every moment spent with his wife, children, granddaughter, siblings, and nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Anna McAvin; and sister, Linda McAvin.
Survivors: wife of 44 years, Veronica McAvin; children, Joe McAvin and wife, Claire, Justin McAvin, and Yvettee McAvin; granddaughter, Emma McAvin; brother, Gary McAvin and wife, Carroll; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
