Lorris N. Tengvall

Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Advent Lutheran Church, 3232 South Cooper in Arlington. Interment will follow in Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Heart to Heart Hospice or Advent Lutheran Church (Library Fund).

Lorris was born Jan. 4, 1933, and raised in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. She married her beloved husband, John, in 1952 and spent the next 18 months waiting for him to return from Japan during the Korean War. They began raising their family in Sheboygan and subsequently moved to Texas in 1969.

Lorris dedicated her life to her husband, children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook and sewed clothing and quilts for her family and others. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and other countries. She was very active in her church: teaching Bible school, attending Bible study, assisting in her church library, and helping to start a Mothers' Day Out program. Her family takes comfort that she is reunited with her cherished husband and knows that she has left a legacy of devotion to friends, family, and her Lord. They would also like to thank the faithful caregivers at Meadowbrook Memory Care in Arlington for their care of Lorris for the past year.

Survivors: Her children, Wendy, Tim and Chris and their spouses; sisters, Carol, Darla and Rolean; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
