Marian Joyce (Sandler) Jacobi, 85, of Arlington Texas died April 3, 2018. An April Fools Baby, she was born in Burkburnett, TX, one of two daughters of Abraham B. Sandler and Yetta Sandler. After High School she began her studies and joined the Jewish sorority in Oklahoma City quickly realizing a life was waiting for her in Dallas, TX.
Marian moved in with her aunt and uncle, Berna and Joe Funk, in Dallas as a live-in nanny for a short time, until a Sailor, recently back from World War II, with an imaginary twin brother came a courtin’. He swept her off those 20 year old feet and Allan Lee Jacobi and Marian were married on November 15th, 1953 in Dallas, TX.
Together, Allan and Marian started a family and a department store called Jacobi IV. Marian was the perfect comedic straight-man to Allan and together, they were flawlessly entertaining. They spent their lives together exploring the world and living throughout the great state of Texas with their children. They were a shining example of love to all they knew.
Marian attended Temple regularly and was constant in her faith, family and friendships. She was also a regular in her water aerobics class and an avid bridge player. She could be seen at all 7 of her grandchildren’s events as a special guest. She was welcomed at Little League Baseball & Soccer Games, Dance Recitals, and Choir Concerts.
