

Marquetta graduated from Hirschi High School with honors in 1989. In 2005 she graduated from The Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. She was passionate about the funeral industry. She obtained her Funeral Director & Embalmer license from the Texas Funeral Service Commission in 2008. Marquetta loved her career as a licensed funeral director & embalmer with Golden Gate Funeral Home of Dallas, Texas and most recently, Dignity Memorial of Arlington, Texas.
Marquetta was kind hearted with a smile that would light up the room. Marquetta was a member of Concord Church of Dallas. Marquetta had a love for dogs and had recently adopted her a pitbull, Marley, from the Dallas Animal Shelter, who she said brought her pure joy.
Marquetta is survived by her mother, Earnestine (George) Brooks, father James (Brenda) Hubbard, sisters Dr. Jabrenta Hubbard, Renee (Michael) Thompson, Eplunus (Paul) Colvin, brother George M. Brooks, her niece Zaniya Sanae Colvin, nephews Christian Elijah Davis Brooks and Preston Deshun Kelly Colvin, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Terry Stearn, a special friend for many years.
