Mary Rosalie Pombuena, age 60, of Arlington, TX, was sent to her eternal home on September 9, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her family and close friends. She was born on June 11, 1965 in Legazpi City, Philippines, a daughter of the late Alejandro Batalla and Fermina Sarza. She married Noel Pombuena on June 1, 1991 and shared 34 wonderful years together.
Lallie, as she was affectionately called by family and friends, was always a bright light to those that had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and an unwavering faith in God. Always ready to help, Mary was very gregarious and has never met a stranger. She always had a smile on her face.
Lallie finished high school at Quezon City Science High in 1981. From there, she had a brief stint at University of the Philippines – Diliman from 1981 to 1983. Then went on to continue her studies at Emilio Aguinaldo College in Cavite, Philippines. This is where she met her future spouse, Noel (Bongsky). They both completed Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1987. Immediately after graduating, Mary taught Therapeutic Exercise class for a year at De La Salle University-Cavite. In January 1989, she and Noel moved to the US to work as travelling physical therapists. They worked in Michigan, Washington, DC, Florida, and Texas. After their wedding, they decided to plant their roots in Texas. In pursuit of higher education, she completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in August of 2015.
Mary worked as a physical therapist throughout her working career. She retired from Medical City – Fort Worth (then Plaza Medical Center) in 2023 as a Staff PT and a Credentialed Clinical Instructor. She was the Physical Therapy Supervisor when their hospital’s Outpatient Department was still operational, as well. She has touched so many lives both personally and professionally.
She and her husband love to hike and travel. She loved to shop but became more careful with spending when she learned about financial education, to which she was passionate about.
Lallie is survived and missed by her loving spouse and her two boys, Patrick (Kuya) and Nicholas (Bubba). She also leaves behind her siblings Tomas Alejo, Irene, Mary Anne, Jose, and Maria Cristina.
There will be a visitation on Friday, September 26, from 4 pm to 8 pm, at Moore Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens. A Catholic Mass will be held in her honor on September 27 at 10 am at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She will be interred at Moore Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens immediately following the Mass.
The family wishes to thank all the friends and relatives that have helped her through this cancer journey in one form or another.
