

Mary Sue Williams passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at the age of 90 from complications of pneumonia while surrounded by her family. Memorial service: 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, in Moore Funeral Home Chapel, 1219 N. Davis Drive, Arlington, followed by family visitation. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Park Row Church of Christ, 915 W. Park Row, Arlington, Texas 76013, or a charity of choice. Sue was born in Pottsville on July 11, 1922, to J. Earl and Bess Smith. Her family then moved to Hamilton, where her father owned and operated the Smith and Jones cotton gin with his son-in-law. After graduating from Hamilton High School in 1939, she attended Tarleton State College and graduated from Texas Technological College in 1943. She married Roy Robert Williams in 1947 after he returned from World War II and also graduated from Texas Tech. They moved to Arlington in 1954 with their two young children. Sue was a business teacher at Sam Houston High School for 21 years and upon retirement, volunteered for many years at Arlington Memorial Hospital and Hearts and Hands. She enjoyed playing bridge, shopping, family events and being an active member of the Arlington Woman's Club. Sue and Roy were charter members of Park Row Church of Christ and attended for over 50 years. She was devoted to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, church and friends. The family would like to extend gratitude to the Isle at Watercrest in Mansfield for the excellent care of Sue during her last year of life, in addition to a special thank-you to her niece, Patricia Jones, during her final days. Sue was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James E. Smith; and sister, Earlene Jones. Survivors: Husband of 66 years, Roy Williams; son, Dr. Larry Williams and wife, Dr. Vickie Geisel; daughter, Suzanne Williams Bunte and husband, Fred Bunte; grandsons, Sam Bunte and wife, Amy, Jay Bunte and wife, Ellen, and Benjamin Bunte; great-grandchildren, Lane Bunte and Allison Bunte; sisters-in-law, Jean Smith and Winnie Williams; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
