On December 22, 1951, Melva married Cecil Glen Braun. They celebrated 64 years together. She was a very gifted cake decorator for Kotch's Bakery & Minyards Stores for over 40 years! She also made & decorated elaborate wedding, birthday, anniversary, & special occasion cakes for family and friends through the years. Melva loved the monthly luncheons for L.I.F.T. at Moore's Funeral Home. She was a avid reader, loved studying history, and especially loved traveling overseas, Alaska, Hawaii, & Mexico. She loved cruising with her granddaughter, Alicia, in her later years. Cooking for family events, being there for family when they needed her, & enjoying family gatherings is where she shined! She was loved & will be greatly missed!
Melva is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil G. Braun; son, Matthew Braun; parents, Thurmond & Eudora Horton; brother, Jesse Glen Horton.
