Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, in Moore Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Moore Funeral Home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Mercedes was born Dec. 18, 1923, and emigrated to the U.S. from Havana, Cuba, in 1962. She was a proud American who loved her family, enjoyed traveling and the arts.
Survivors: Daughter, Moraima Ruiz; granddaughter, Monica Christine Golden; and sister-in-law, Ofelia Ruiz.
