

Nolan Loran Sifford, 82, of Alvarado, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2015 in Fort Worth. Services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, July 6, 2015 at Moore Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Moore Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. Friends are invited to join the family for refreshments following the graveside committal at Moore reception hall. Visitation will be Sunday, July 5 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the funeral home.
Nolan was born November 27, 1932 in Terrell, Texas to Loran Henry Sifford and Lila Mae Stephens. He married Mary Elizabeth Hunt, December 20, 1950 in Terrell. He served more than 23 years in the United States Air Force and retired April 30, 1973 as a Chief Master Sergeant. After retiring from the Air Force, Nolan worked for Lockheed in the logistics department for 17 years. Nolan enjoyed hunting, fishing, skeet shooting and will always be remembered for his creative bird houses that he built and blessed so many people with as gifts.
Mr. Sifford was preceded in death by one son, Stephen Sifford on October 28, 1989.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Mary Elizabeth Sifford of Alvarado, one daughter, Karen L. Dodds and her husband Michael of Washougal, Washington, one son, Timothy D. Sifford and his wife Lee Ann of St. Louis, Missouri, nine grandchildren; Jennifer Dodds, Stephanie Vom Baur, Casey Sifford, Christopher Sifford, Alex Dodds, Jeffrey Sifford, Robert Sifford, Matthew Dodds, Justin Sifford, and eight great-grandchildren; Brittani, Samantha, Allison, Max, Sage, Mason, Stephen, and Zachary.
