Phillip David Fuller

David graduated from Castleberry High School. While in high school, he participated in the A Capella Choir, played football, and was a four-sport letterman. He attended Abilene Christian University on a football scholarship and graduated in 1968. David later enlisted in the US Marine Corps where he was a Radar Intercept Officer in F4’s. David’s love for sports led him to play football for the Marine Corps, as well as semi-professional football for the Fort Worth Braves.

During his career as a high school coach and teacher, David impacted thousands of lives both on the field and in the classroom. For 45 years, he coached football, baseball, and track at 13 schools and was a part of four state championships in football. The schools he coached at included Castleberry, Seymour, Iowa Park, Windthorst, Wichita Falls Rider, Grand Prairie, Arlington, Conroe, Grapevine, The Colony, Irving Nimitz, Southlake Carroll and Keller. David touched many lives and will be truly missed by all who knew him.

David loved to fish, especially with his friend, Trent Lancaster - his son Trent's namesake. A voracious reader, he was always reading a book, often two or three at a time. If he had competed in the Trivial Pursuit world championship, he would have won! He completed the New York Times crossword puzzle in record time, daily, for years. He loved playing golf and watching his favorite teams, the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. Most of all, David loved spending time and laughing with his family and friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents, H.C. and Mildred Fuller.

David is survived by wife of 55 years, Sandra; his children, son, Mike Fuller, his wife, Holly, and their children Autumn and Roman, and son, Trent Fuller, his wife Shawn, and their children Chance and Colt; siblings, brother, Steve Fuller and his wife Janice, brother Paul Fuller and his wife Kerry, and brother, Joel Fuller and his wife, Lynn; six nephews, two nieces, and a host of family and friends.

A funeral service for Dave will be held Tuesday, November 2, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Grapevine Church of Christ, 525 North Park Blvd, Grapevine, TX 76051. Following the funeral service will be a committal service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012.
