She was born to Telesforo & Juana (Castro) Castro on November 13, 1948, in Leon Guanajuato Mexico. Rebecca graduated from Texas Tech High School in 1970.
After several studies of Theology at UTEP, she began to be intensely interested in the understanding of God's Word, the Bible. Thus, since the age of 35, both loves dominated her life...her love of others and her love of God. She became one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1986, after which she kept developing both areas of her life. Inspired by “He that does not love has not come know God, because God is love.” (1 John 4:8) she faithfully devoted her life completely to the full-time ministry as a regular pioneer minister.
Rebecca is survived by her husband of 36 years, Alvaro of Chihuahua, Chihuahua. Her children, Erika (Charles Patrick) Jones of Waxahachie, Brenda Gallegos of Euless, Xavier Gallegos of Ft Worth, Hilda Gallegos of Azle, Isaiah Jeremy Gallegos of Ft Worth; grandchildren, Xylia Ytaly Taylor Gallegos, Rebekkah Gene Jones, Tabithah Moreno, Samantha Justine Hardin, Xavier Xerxes Xian Gallegos, Cameron Wesley Hardin, Xanthe Xene Xylona Gallegos, Hannah Mae Hardin, Xiomarah Xahlem Xahlome Gallegos, Solomon Enrique Moreno, Nathaniel Luke Gallegos; previous family, Maria Teresa Elizondo; 3 brothers and 2 sisters; many nieces and nephews.
Rebecca is preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers; and a grandchild Fernando Moreno.
Rebecca will be dearly missed by her family and by her many brothers and sisters from multiple congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses. Her subtle and wry humor - paired with her warm and sincere love for others - created a very special woman in this world. She was loved by so very many people, and she had a world of room in her heart to love them all right back.
(Juan 5:28, 29)
She will long be remembered as a warm, unselfish person who gave willingly of her talents and knowledge to others. We are sure that she dwells in God's memory and will one day hear the voice of the Lord Jesus calling her out to a resurrection of life. (John 5:28, 29)
