

Richard Lee Elmer, 58, of Arlington, Texas, security manager for TD Ameritrade, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016, of natural causes. He was born in Jasper, Indiana on January 8, 1958. Richard graduated from Jasper High School in 1976 and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Indiana State University in 1980. Richard had a career in Criminal Justice working first for the US Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Prisons, and after retiring he worked for TD Ameritrade. He had a passion for sports and physical fitness. He was married to Ruth Helen Clower Elmer on March 26, 1994. He is survived by his wife; daughters Adrianne Elmer of Fredericksburg, Virginia and Brittany Elmer-Cash, her husband, Thomas Cash, and their daughter Kylie Rae Cash, of Partlow, Virginia; his son William Elmer of Arlington, Texas. He is also survived by his siblings and their spouses Bernard Elmer and wife Sara of Frankfort, Kentucky; Patricia Kemp and husband David of Evansville, Indiana; Clara Davis and husband James of Indianapolis, Indiana; William Elmer, Jr. and wife Carol of Boonville, Indiana; Michael Elmer and wife Patricia of Newburgh, Indiana; Donna Lamb and husband Gary of Madison, Indiana; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, on August 12, 2016, at St. Vincent Cathedral in Bedford, Texas.
