

It is with extreme grief we announce the passing of Robert Cameron Morris,82, of Arlington, Texas on February 7, 2020. Bob was born in Washington, Kansas and music was a very important part of his life. He began studying classic and jazz piano at age 7. In high school he was recruited to play piano with Harry Winters Band and continued to do so throughout high school, college and for several years afterward. He also played the upright bass because he said it was easier to get it into the car than the piano when they played "gigs". He also played clarinet. For over 20 years he had a standing date to play tennis with his friend C. J. They won two trophies in tennis doubles. Also a great fun time was had playing poker twice a month with the same guys for 30 plus years. Bob was always the gracious host, even when he lost! He said it was called "The Redistribution of the Wealth."
Bob worked his entire life in finance, first as a "Senior Auditor for Price Waterhouse, then as an Accounting Manager for General Dynamics (Lockheed Martin) in San Diego, California. He was promoted to Fort Worth as CFO. Later he joined Aerospatiale Helicopter Corp. in Grand Prairie, Texas as Vice President of Finance. He was Treasurer of the Lone Star Miata Club and President of Finance for Butterfly Luggage. Bob served as Treasurer, Vice President and President of Arlington Goodtimes Chorus and was deeply proud of his Barbershop of the Year award.
Bob graduated from Kansas University in Leavenworth, Kansas and Pepperdine University in California.
He proudly served in and was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Army.
He was a member of the Arlington Goodtimes Chorus, the Lone Star Miata Club, First United Methodist Church, Mansfield, Texas and former member of several financial organizations. He leaves behind a rich legacy to family, friends, associates and his wife of 34 years.
Bob had many interests especially music, woodworking making several beautiful pieces of furniture, traveling across the USA, England, France, Italy and Ireland, sailing and driving his Miata. He also enjoyed cooking, having graduated as a Certified Chef from Ames Academy. He and a Barber Shop crew prepared all the food for the annual Chorus spaghetti dinners. For years his home was Valentine Central for the chorus.
He dearly treasured his family. Such a gentle, sincere, kind hearted man who never had a bad word for anyone and was always complimentary to one and all.
He is survived by his wife, PJ Morris, Arlington, his son Brian Morris, daughter-in-law Maile Morris, grandson Tia Cameron Morris of Niwot, Colorado, daughter Dr. Sarah Morris, son-in-law Chris Oswald, granddaughter Abby Oswald, grandson Alex Oswald of Silver Spring, Maryland. Son Michael Reeves and wife, Wendy of Euless, Texas and their children Ryan and Dawn Reeves, great grandson Logan Reeves of Midland, Texas: Philip Reeves and Heather Weeks, great granddaughter River Reeves, Arlington, Texas. Son James Reeves and wife, Sandy of Mansfield, their children Leah Reeves and Marcus Townsend and great granddaughter Callie Townsend of Fort Worth. Sarah and Kyle Shuman and great granddaughter Berkeley Shuman , great grandson Barrett Shuman of Lubbock, Texas. Son John Paul Reeves and wife, Lori Reeves of Arlington, Texas. Nephew Lee Vogel and wife, Allison Vogel of Missouri and Oahu. Cousins Beverly Hoffsett and Betty Ann King of Kansas, and many friends. He was predeceased by his father and step-mother, Chester and Anne Morris and mother Evelyn Morris all of Kansas and his only sibling Margie Vogel Bixby of Kansas City, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Arlington Goodtimes Chorus or the Alzheimer's Association.
Family will receive friends for a visitation at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas 76012, on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Moore Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. and will be officiated by Rev. David Alexander of First United Methodist Church in Mansfield, TX. A private committal service will be held at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
