Robert Dalton Ray, 69, was born in Waterbury, Connecticut and passed away at home Wednesday, May 16, 2012, surrounded by his family. Rob graduated from Highland Park High School in Illinois and attended Millikin University in Decatur, Ill. After retiring from a career at Air Industries, he pursued a job he dreamed of: driving trucks across the country and seeing and experiencing the open road.
Rob dedicated his life to spending time with his family, and ensuring enduring memories with them traveling, camping, golfing, skiing and attending his favorite teams' ballgames. His family and friends will remember his quick wit, open and generous sense of humor, loyalty and strength.
Rob was predeceased by his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Robert I. Ray of Richmond, Va., and Waterbury, Conn.; and grandson, Andrew Cody McComb.
Survivors: His loving wife of 46 years, Janice. Rob is lovingly remembered by his wife, Jan; his daughters, Lisa Gunther and Kristy Ray; brothers, Thomas and Donald; granddaughters, Roni and Rikki Gunther; beloved great-grandchildren, in-laws, nieces and nephews; and many close and cherished friends.
