Ruth was a longtime resident of Arlington. Over the years, she belonged to several bridge groups and the Newcomers Club and was a charter member with her husband of the Lone Star Park Jockey Club in Grand Prairie.
She was born in Delta County to Eunice and Othie Akard, who preceded her in death.
Survivors: Her loving husband of 53 years, Jack; son, Ron Treece and wife, Debbie; daughters, Susan Pierard and husband, Steve, and Sharon Emerson and husband, James; and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, all of whom she was extremely proud.
