

Ruth Ann Campbell, 69, of Arlington, Texas passed away on June 23, 2012, at Arlington Memorial Hospital, Arlington, Texas.
Ruth Ann was born on March 27, 1943, in Cushing, Oklahoma. The family moved to Odessa, Texas, where she met her high school sweetheart, whom she married on February 8, 1964, in Kilgore, Texas. She enjoyed 48 years of marriage to Vann Campbell. In May of 1965, she graduated with her Bachelor's of Science from Texas Woman's College, being the first to certify in Montessori teaching studies.
For 47 years, Ruth Ann called Arlington home, where she taught, collectively, for 25 years, focusing on Homemaking, throughout many grade levels, at multiple schools, for Arlington ISD. Among the most noted times were when she taught at Gunn Junior High and Young Junior High, then at Hutcheson Junior High until she retired in 2000.
Ruth Ann very much enjoyed her membership at historic Westfork Presbyterian Church in Grand Prairie, Texas. She also enjoyed quilting, so much that she helped found the Arlington Quilters Guild. She immensely loved traveling and sightseeing in Hawaii and Washington D. C., as well as camping in her travel trailer. She loved the crocheting craft, making blankets.
Ruth Ann is survived by her husband, Vann Campbell; her son, VannMann Campbell and his wife, Laurelle Campbell of Little Elm, Texas, and her father, Lawrence Butler of Stillwater, Oklahoma. Ruth Ann is also survived by her one grandchild, Corwin Campbell, and a dear friend of the family, cousin Alexa Ewen of Wichita Falls, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully requests donations should be made to the Texas Scottish Rite Children's Hospital in Dallas, Texas, where her love for educating and helping children will continue in her memory.
The family will be having an open visitation on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas 76012. The funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at The Chapel of Moore Funeral Home, Arlington, Texas, with graveside services immediately to follow in the Moore Memorial Gardens.
