Terry was born in Missouri, in Randolph County. As he would say, he got to Texas as soon as he could. He was the youngest of ten children of John W. Elliott and Flossie Mae Prather Elliott.
Terry was a loving husband to Lana Elliott for 54 years. They found true love lasting over five decades, "T.R. and L.D. Forever," which he inscribed on many things.
Terry's mom taught him to love the Lord at a young age. In the few years she was alive with him, she instilled the importance of a life serving Christ. Terry's father, sisters, and brothers continued to teach the life of serving God to him. He faithfully continued to the last day of his life. Terry served his country in the United States Army. He spoke of his travels to Germany and his adventures, many of which were entertaining at the least.
Terry worked at the General Motors Assembly Plant in Arlington for 30.4 years. He moved his family to Arlington and that's where their lives began.
Terry was a witness for Christ to anyone who would take the time to speak to him. He felt strongly about following this calling. He would ask a simple question, "Do you know Jesus?" and then tell them about his Lord and Savior and how Jesus could change their lives through salvation.
Terry was a man of character and humility. He was caring and compassionate. He was always happy and funny and loved making others laugh. His laugh was contagious, and he had a beautiful smile. His joy was making funny faces and clowning in his pictures. He was dedicated daily to reading and studying his Bible at his kitchen table alongside his wife, Lana.
He was the light of the world for his family. He always ended his prayers with, "We love you, Sweetheart".
He is survived by two children, his son, Michael Elliott of Royse City, and his daughter, Brandy Elliott and Serena Henderson of Grand Prairie. He was the best brother-in-law to Robert Haney of Royse City and Bruce Haney of Lancaster. Four grandchildren: Ashlee Todd, Terry Elliott, Ally Elliott-Schell, and Aiden Elliott, and two great-grandchildren. His sister-in-law Judy Lackey of Royse City. Terry had many nieces, nephews, and cousins in Texas and Missouri.
"HIS LORD SAID UNTO HIM, WELL DONE, GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT;" MATTHEW 25:23
