He was born in Nha Trang, Vietnam, on August 19, 1949.
In his youth, he was a junior officer for the South Vietnam Ground Force and fought alongside American soldiers during the Vietnam War. Fortunate to survive the conflict, Thong immigrated to America to escape the North’s political oppression. Starting over in the States was a bittersweet challenge, but through his resourcefulness he persevered and found his happiness along the way. He married Tina Vo on January 9, 1982 and they had five beautiful children together.
Always interested in computers and mechanical hardware, Thong was never wasteful and repurposed many items for further use. He loved solving problems, whether theoretical or practical, and never hesitated in sharing his knowledge with others. In his free time, he spent many hours in his garden growing various plants.
Thong was a kind, humble, and hard-working family man who always cared for others before himself. He will forever be remembered as a wonderful husband, caring father, the best grandfather, the eldest brother of the Vo Family in Vietnam, a patient teacher, and a compassionate friend and colleague.
He is survived by his parent in-laws, the Ly family; his wife, Tina Vo; his children, Julie, Angie, Scott, Genevie, and Katie; his grandchildren, Ethan, Jordan, and Lilyann; his two sisters currently residing in Vietnam; and his in-law relatives, the Bui Family.
Funeral viewing will be held at 10 am and Cremation Services at 2 pm Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Moore Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 1219 N Davis Dr, Arlington, TX 76012.
