He was born in Vallejo, Calif. on Nov. 4, 1952, to Robert Kenneth and Amelia Mary Ely. He was married to the love of his life, Hillery Ely, on July 23, 1977. William had a career in the beverage can industry for over 30 years with Rexam. He had a passion for his family, motorcycle, racing and restoration of his 1966 Mustang.
Survivors: William is survived by wife; Hillery; mother, Amelia; children, Brian and Angela Ely and Barbra and Jonathan Dodd; grandchildren, Paige, Kassidy, Fisher, Ford, Kyleigh, Kailynn, Raysen and Jonathan; great-grandchildren, Brylinn and Axel; niece, Lisa and Carl Fowler and family; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth and Bob Biggs, Margean and Forrest Blake, Patricia and Tom Rush, and Laurie and Oscar Infante and families.
