

Bill was born on October 19, 1941, in Texarkana, Arkansas, to Dr. William Daniel English I and Evelyn Stabler English. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved aunt, Dr. Ellen English.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Andrea Carsten English, whose partnership and love were the foundation of his life. He also leaves behind his cherished children: Bradley English, Clayton Heilman, Heather Howard, and June Vanzant. Bill was a proud and loving grandfather to Haley Howard, Zoe Howard, Jane Vanzant, and Jayce Vanzant, and a delighted great-grandfather to Riley Hatton. He is also survived by his sister, Catherine English.
Bill pursued his calling in medicine with dedication and excellence. He graduated from the University of Arkansas Medical School and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. He went on to complete his cardiology fellowship at Southwestern Medical School before establishing a respected private practice in Arlington, Texas. He served faithfully on staff at Arlington Memorial Hospital, where he cared for countless patients over the course of his distinguished career. His commitment to healing was matched by his compassion, integrity, and steady presence.
In addition to his medical career, Bill proudly served his country as a Major in the United States Air Force from 1970 to 1973 and was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for meritorious service. His years of service reflected his deep sense of duty, honor, and dedication to others.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bill was a man of strong passions and simple joys. He deeply loved his wife, his family, and his dogs. He was a die-hard fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks - Pig Sooie! He found pleasure in western books and movies, admired the larger-than-life characters portrayed by Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger, and had a lifelong appreciation for old cars, fast cars, and firearms. He enjoyed spirited conversations, a good story, and the enduring values of strength, loyalty, and independence.
Bill will be remembered as a devoted husband, proud father and grandfather, respected physician, veteran, and loyal friend. His steady guidance, quiet strength, and unwavering love leave a lasting legacy in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
