

Service: No funeral service is planned. A private family celebration of life will occur at a later date.
Memorials: The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to a charity of choice.
Bill was born June 18, 1949, in Denton to Robert and Jean Floyd. The family moved to Arlington in 1957 and Bill graduated from Arlington High School in 1967. He received his BBA from TCU and later earned a Master's Degree in Forestry at Stephen F. Austin University. He was employed with the U.S. Forest Service in a capacity he loved in Washington, Oregon, Colorado and Lufkin.
After retirement he worked with FEMA on special assignments assisting with disaster relief. He was active in his church and community. Bill loved the outdoors and spent many hours in the mountains hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Jean Floyd; grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
Survivors: Son, Joshua Floyd and wife, Valerie, of Dayton, Tenn.; daughter, Kellie Floyd of Rossville, Ga.; sisters, Margaret Workman and husband, Rusty, of Addison and Elizabeth Snider of Arlington; nephew, Chris Workman and wife, Michelle; niece, Allison Weaver and husband, Brandon; great-nephews, Jake and Dane Workman; and aunt, Marilyn Craig; and seven cousins.
