Vejailakhmi Gloria Matadial

Vejailakhmi Gloria Matadial died on April 29, 2021 in Arlington, Virginia. She was 69. She was born to Walter Sr. and Ethel Rampersaud on February 17, 1952 in Cumberland Village, East Canje, Berbice, Guyana. She attended Cumberland Primary School and high school at Berbice Educational Institute. After migrating to the US in the early 1980’s she attended Strayer University where she earned an Associate Degree. She worked at National Insurance Scheme (NIS) in Guyana from 1970 to 1981. In the USA, she worked at Aurora Associates and then the US House of Representatives as Supervisor for House Chief Administrator Officer (CAO) until her retirement in 2016. Gloria is the wife of Prakash Matadial. She is the mother of Sattesh Matadial and Roy Matadial; Grandmother of Tristan, Aniya, and Kyle; mother-in-law to Indira and Stephanie. She is the sister of Edward, Grace, Patricia, Desiree and Beatrice. She is preceded in death by both of her parents, her brothers Michael and Walter Rampersaud Jr.
