

Springtown, Texas - David M. Wagner, 75, of Springtown, TX, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Dec 31st after a brief illness. Born in Sewickley, PA. The oldest son of August Wagner and Anna Balamut Wagner, he is survived by his wife of 48 years Jane Mixer Wagner, daughter Rebecca Wagner Hopkins, Marengo, Ohio, granddaughter Robinetta Hopkins, brother James Wagner and wife Cathy, New Brighton, PA, nieces Jennifer Cribbs and Rachel Sattler.
David, a CRNA, retired from Cook Children's Hospital, Ft Worth TX in 2015. He started his career in 1982 at UPMC Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Jane and David moved to Texas in 2004 for the opportunity to work at Cook's.
David was a life-long learner, he attended St John the Baptist School and Monaca (PA) High School. He received BS degrees from Penn State Univ and Duquesne Univ. His anesthesia degree was earned at the Univ of Pittsburgh Health System along with a MS from Univ of Pittsburgh in Health Information Systems. After retirement he took an on-line Astrophysics course from the Univ of Arizona for fun.
In 1971 after graduating Penn State he joined the U.S. Navy serving 4 years active duty as a dental tech at various bases in the U.S. David continued his Naval career as a Reservist becoming a Casualty Care Instructor. He retired in 2000 as a Lieutenant.
His other interests included hunting, target shooting and reloading. David was a member of the Ft Worth Astronomical Society, and loved the challenge of photographing the night sky and meteor showers. He was an excellent baker much to the delight of his OR co-workers. David enjoyed feeding birds in our yard and was proud of the returning Bluebirds and Hummingbirds that nested on our farm. He was a HAM radio enthusiast, member of the ARRL, loved competing in the Amateur Radio "contact" contests, and attended Hamvention in Dayton, OH many times.
A service will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 800 High Crest Dr., Azle, TX on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 11am.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a Committal Service for David on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 11AM at North Auburn Cemetery, North Auburn, Maine.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in his memory to St Jude's Hospital, Memphis, TN.
