

AUBURN: Joseph Richard “Dick” Ouellette, 80, of Auburn, passed away at the Odd Fellows Home of Maine on March 18, 2014 surrounded by his family. Dick was born in Auburn on August 11, 1933 the son of the late Romeo S. and Anne (Scanlon) Ouellette. He graduated from Edward Little High School with the class of 1951. He proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force with four years of service. He graduated from the Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute in 1958 with a degree in Industrial Electricity. In 1960, he married Beverly Connolly and they had three children. He was employed by Roy I. Snow until he worked for the United States Postal Service and retired in 1994 after 35 years. Dick enjoyed fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling with his buddies and also being at camp with friends and family, especially his grandkids. There wasn’t a thing he couldn’t fix. Dick is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Beverly, his children; Rebecca Bosse and her husband Michael of North Carolina, Brenda Rivard and her husband Daniel of Mechanic Falls, and Timothy Ouellette and his companion Karen Dehetre of Minot. He also leaves behind his grandchildren; Alyssa and Megan Bosse, and Justin and Jacob Rivard. He was predeceased by his two sisters Gloria Bergeron and Delores Becker and his brother-in-law Louie. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff members at the Lamp Alzheimer’s Residential Care Facility and the Odd Fellows Home for the wonderful care he received. A Memorial Gathering will take place on Tuesday March 25, 2014 from 10-11am at the funeral home in Auburn followed by a Liturgy of the Word Service at 11am also at the funeral home followed by military honors. Interment will be at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn. Those wishing, in lieu of flowers, may make a charitable contribution in Dick’s memory to a charity of their choice.
