Jacqueline A Goulet

Jacqueline attended Holy Cross and St. Dominic’s High School and often shared fond stories about the nuns and how much fun they were. She graduated in 1958 and, that August, married her childhood friend and love of her life, Paul Goulet. They were married for 63 years, until Paul’s passing in 2021. Jacqueline loved raising their 4 children and especially enjoyed hosting family gatherings and holiday celebrations.

She worked for several years as a bank teller before moving into administrative work in real estate and later retired from Tri County Mental Health. Throughout her career, Jacqueline formed lifelong friendships with many of her coworkers. After retiring, she devoted her time to volunteering with The Literacy program for several years.

Jacqueline was a devoted fan of Jason Varitek and the Boston Red Sox. She enjoyed scrapbooking, reading, solving cryptograms, and feeding the wildlife in the backyard. She and Paul loved traveling and visited many states throughout the country together.

She is survived by her sons, Dan Goulet and partner Ericka Olson of Sabattus, and Michael Goulet of Lewiston; her daughter, Denise, and husband Andrew Buchanan of Auburn; four grandchildren, Justin (Buzz), Crystal, Heather, and Bridgette; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul; her daughter, Janine; her brother Joseph Berube; and her parents, Joseph and Cecile Berube.

A graveside service will be held in the spring for close family and friends. Jacqueline lived a full and meaningful life as a caring and loving wife, mother and friend, and will be deeply missed.

One of Jacqueline’s favorite sayings as she got older was “tanks” instead of “thanks”. I will forever remember this every time I hear the word thanks. So “tanks Mommy” I will miss you forever.
