He remained a lifelong resident of this community. On August 20, 1960, he married the former Mary E. Eustis in Winthrop. John worked with his father in the family grain business Parsons Brothers after high school, followed by years managing the grain mill at Maine Milling. Mr. Parsons ended his career with over 20 years working in the Planning and Development Office at the City of Auburn. Parsons of Auburn; his daughter JoAnne Campbell and husband Tom of Auburn; his two sons Daniel Parsons and wife Debra of Auburn and James Parsons and wife Pamela of Alamo, CA; four grandchildren Jennifer Campbell, Kimberly Campbell, Craig Parsons and wife Brianna and Daniel Parsons and fiancee Whitney Farland; three sisters Jane Norris of Auburn, Georgia Eustis of FL and Florence Hansen of Springvale, ME and several nieces and nephews.
