

Poland, ME - It is with aching hearts that we announce Kathrine E. (Evans) Dunton, 77, of Poland, Maine passed away from lung and bone cancer on Thursday morning, September 7, 2023, in her home filled with love and blessings. Born April 15, 1946, in Boston, Massachusetts, Kathrine was the eldest daughter of Thomas Crane Sr and Alma (Holton) Crane and proud wife of Lovell Dunton for 48 years. She grew up in Roxbury, Massachusetts and attended school in Jamaica Plain. Kathrine left school early to work in a curtain factory until the age of 19 when she moved on to Raytheon where she stayed until 2005 when she retired.
Upon retiring Kathy moved to their vacation home in Poland, Maine. In her free time Kathrine enjoyed crocheting, doing jigsaw puzzles, gardening reading, spending time with her grandchildren and catering to her dogs Kandi, Dani, and especially Pal.
Kathrine is survived by her loving husband Lovell Dunton; siblings Christine (Timmons) Beaudoin (Edward Beaudoin), Barbara Crane; children Susan LaLond-O'Byrne (Christopher O’Byrne), Mark LaLond (Nickole LaLond), Kristina (Dunton) Wante (Ronald Wante); grandchildren Cory Jones (Samantha (Adamo) Jones), Anna Wante-Cyr (Nick Cyr), Desirée Wante-Currier (Shane Currier), Madison Wante, Cathrine Wante, Aaron Wante, Logan LaLond, Mason LaLond; and great grandchildren Casey, Miley-Anne, and Aria. Kathy will also be dearly missed by her nieces, nephews and many close friends.
Kathrine is predeceased by her parents and her brother Thomas Crane Jr.

Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 1PM-3PM at the Fortin Group at 217 Turner Street in Auburn with spiritual services following directly after.
