

Louis L. Vaillancourt, 74, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2010, surrounded by family following a brief illness. He was born on October 19, 1935 in Lewiston, the son of the late Louis & Blanche (Rioux) Vaillancourt. Following graduation from St. Dom's in 1955, he served in the Army national guard for 10 years. He married the former Claudette R. Nadeau on October 30, 1965. He was a Certified Dental Technician and worked for Twin City Dental Lab for 20 years. He also worked for Union Water Power and retired from Bates College in 2006 where he worked as a maintenance worker in the library. A member of Prince of Peace Parish,at The Basilica of Ss. Peter & Paul, he also belonged to the American Legion in Sabattus. He enjoyed walking, traveling, watching TV (especially old war movies, comedies, and the Red Sox), discussing politics, playing cards, music, dancing and was known for his sense of humor. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Claudette, of Lewiston; one daughter, Kelly Vaillancourt Turner and her companion Maurice Chabot of Lewiston; one son, Mark and his wife Pamela of Auburn; one granddaughter, Amanda Turner of Lewiston, many brothers & sisters-in-law, and friends.
