Marguerite Courtemanche

Marguerite was born on in Keegan, Maine on April 28th, 1930, a daughter to Arthur Morin and Mary Ann Parent Morin Baker. She had six brothers and six sisters. Marguerite attended primary school in Keegan and graduated from the eighth grade.

On August 7th, 1948, Marguerite was married to Roger Courtemanche at the Holy Family Church in Lewiston, Maine. They were married for over 60 years before his passing on July 8th, 2009.

In her younger years, Marguerite spent a lot of time working as a babysitter before working at St. Mary's Hospital for two years. She also worked at Androscoggin Mill before moving to Bates mill for the remaining 30 years of her career.

Marguerite has had many places of residence. She started her life in both Lewiston and Auburn, Maine. She also spent some time in Anchorage, Alaska and Sun City Center, Florida before returning back to Lewiston in 2013 to be closer to her siblings.

Marguerite was a very devoted catholic and said her rosary twice a day. She also watched a Catholic mass daily on EWTN.

In her free time, Marguerite enjoyed ceramics and needlepoints as well as hosting weekly card parties while living in Florida for over 20 years. She always had a big smile on her face and loved to laugh and host dinner parties.

Marguerite leaves behind her children Claudette Stauning of San Angelo, TX and Roger Courtemanche of Lewiston, Maine and Nina Barlow and her husband Gary of Canon City, CO. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Lorrie Gregg and her husband Forrest, Jennifer Courtemanche, Jonathan Courtemanche and his wife Lindsey. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Jarred and Aaron Gregg and Anastasia Courtemanche.

Marguerite is predeceased by her husband Roger, her grandson Shaun Stauning who passed on February 10th, 2019, as well as her siblings Theresa who passed on June 12th, 2015, Tony who passed on July 24th, 1988, Jeannine who passed on October 13th, 1998, Lena who passed on December 1932, shortly after birth, Lionel who passed on May 14th, 2011, Percy who passed on February 19th, 2014, Norman who passed on May 2nd, 2010, Marie who passed on March 13th, 2013, Anita who passed on January 15th, 2018, Rita who passed on August 11th, 2017, Adrien who passed on August 10th, 2009 and Fernand who passed on May 26th, 2016.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 14th, 2024 at 11AM at The Fortin Group Funeral Home in Auburn. Committal Prayers will take place on Friday, June 14th, 2024 at 12PM at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn.
