Auburn - Michelle passed away peacefully at Androscoggin Hospice House with her family by her side at the young age of 46 after an eleven-year courageous battle against metastatic breast cancer. She was the epitome of a true warrior; brave, resilient, and persevering. From her childhood to the last days of her life, Michelle was positive, hopeful and did her best to live life to the fullest and share the love for her family and friends alike.
Michelle was born on November 15, 1977, in Lewiston, Maine to her loving parents, Bob Lussier, and Vicki (Alexander) Lussier. She was blessed with an amazing younger brother Robbie Lussier.
Michelle attended Auburn schools, graduating from Edward Little High School in 1996. Through her school years, her passions led her to participate in activities including competition cheerleading and track and field. She also attended the Lewiston Regional Technical Center “Certified Nursing Assistant” program. She started coursework at the University of New England and University of Southern Maine in pursuit of a Nursing degree, but later discovered this wasn’t her path, and put her education on hold. Additionally, she coached cheerleading at Edward Little High School for several years.
She started working at Shaw’s Supermarket where she was a dedicated employee for 8 years. It was during this time that Michelle met the love of her life, Keith Lemieux, not knowing yet that she would spend the rest of her life with him.
In 1998 she started a career at Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice as a Certified Nursing Assistant and eventually became an Office Coordinator for the Long-Term Care Program. Michelle then began the final stage of her working career at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. She worked as an Executive Assistant for Administration, supporting many Senior Executives. She devoted her time and dedication to this organization for fifteen years until her diagnosis of breast cancer put a stop to her life plans.
Michelle and Keith married in Lewiston, Maine on June 5, 2004. They built their dream home in Minot, Maine where they were graced with two amazing children, Cameron, and Alivia.
As their children grew, Michelle found joy in supporting them in their many activities, attending practices, games, and ceremonies. Her pride for her children and satisfaction in their extracurricular success was one of the cornerstones of her happiness.
Michelle loved her immediate and extended family unconditionally. Her love for Keith, Cameron, and Alivia was fierce and evident to all. Equally strong was her love for her parents, brother, and his family. Spending time with all of them kept her heart happy and full.
Michelle was easy to talk to and genuinely interested in the lives and wellbeing of others, including her many friends. Her smile was bright, and her laugh was infectious. She was kind, considerate, thoughtful, and loyal. She had a keen ability to remember the details of the lives of her family and friends, reflecting her genuine care about each one of them.
Michelle was truly one of a kind and leaves behind a legacy for all of us to remember her by.
Michelle is survived by her husband Keith to whom she was married to for 19 years but together in love for 28, their children Cameron and Alivia; her mother, Vicki Lussier; her father, Bob Lussier; her brother Robbie Lussier and his wife Amber and their children Brody and Brinley; In-laws Donald and Anita Lemieux; sister-in law Celeste Lemieux-Kessler and her husband Michael; several aunts, uncles, and many cousins.
