It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ronald Michel Landry, who departed this life on August 2, 2024 at the age of 75. He was born on August 31, 1948 in Lewiston to Roger M and Madeliene Moreau Landry. He spent his early years in Lewiston, where he attended school and developed a passion for music. In 1962 he formed the band The Rockin’ Recons and spent many hours performing and entertaining at the Pal Hops. After graduating from high school, Ron enlisted in the US Air Force. After leaving the Air Force, he pursued a career working for the Postal Service, eventually retiring as the Lewiston PostMaster.
Ron was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who touched the lives of many with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 55 years, Patty; his daughters Shelly Landry and her wife Belinda; Kimberly Marschall and her husband Ben; and his four grandchildren Carter, Chloe, Gavin, and Cameron.
After retiring from the Postal Service, Ron spent many years pursuing his passion for woodworking and carpentry. Through that work, he touched the lives of many people creating beautiful homes and pieces of furniture. One of his most favorite activities was spending time in his workshop with his grandchildren creating projects and memories that will last a lifetime.
Visitation will be held on August 8, 2024 from 10 am - 12 pm at the Fortin Group in Auburn.
In lieu of flowers, Ron requested that people remember him and pay it forward, give a smile, a hug to a stranger and help make others’ days brighter.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the medical team at Dana Farber Cancer Center and Andwell Health Partners for their support and care during this difficult time.
Ron’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
