Susan was born in Lewiston, Maine on May 31, 1955 the daughter of the late Normand and Arlene (Bernier) Ouellette and passed peacefully on February 20, 2026, in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Throughout her 70 years, Susan has brought so much joy and laughter to many. Susan was the first of 8 children for Normand and Arlene (Bernier) Ouellette. Susan attended schools in Auburn and Lisbon. While attending Lisbon High School, Susan met the love of her life Gerry Trottier and they were later married on December 23, 1972. Over their 53 years of marriage, they had 2 beautiful children, James Trottier and Aimee Trottier, they built a beautiful home in Minot and created many memories with many friends and family.
Susan enjoyed sports, spending many summers coaching and supporting the local Minot/Hebron softball teams. Susan loved working in the many gardens surrounding her home, growing vegetables and beautiful flowers. Susan was always willing to share any canned goods from her garden or any goodies that she had baked that day. Her molasses cookies and peanut butter balls were always in high demand with her nieces and nephews during the holidays. Susan loved creating new crafts and gifts for her family and friends. Hats, mittens and slippers knitted by Susan were always cherished because they were always made with love. If Susan wasn’t in her garden, crafting, or baking, you could find her at the ocean, walking the beach looking for the perfect shell, perfect piece of sea glass or that perfect sand dollar. Susan found the most peace and was the happiest when she was at the ocean. Susan loved to sing and play her guitar for everyone. She could always be found singing along to a song on the radio, humming a tune while working in the garden or practicing how to play a new song.
In April 2022, Susan adopted her fur baby Daisie Mae from Pulled from the Pits Rescue. Daisie brought so much joy and laughter to Susan’s life. Susan loved talking about the silly things that Daisie did with everyone.
Susan was a beautiful soul, caring and always willing to help where she could. She was always there to listen, give advice, lend a helping hand or just give a warm hug. Her laugh was infectious and would put a smile on anyone’s face.
