Alex F. Lopez passed away at the age of 87 on April 25, 2015, at home in Bakersfield, CA, surrounded by family. He was born on April 8, 1928, in Tempe, AZ, to Henry G. and Concepcion Lopez. He married Arlene Mueller on July 16, 1949, in Bakersfield, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sons: Henry A. and Leo, his sister, Virginia, and his brothers: Leo G. and Henry J. Lopez.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Arlene Lopez and children; Ida Herrera (Larry), Rose Fowler, Danny Lopez, Nancy Bell (Rick), Mary Jo Hander (Paul), Theresa Movius (Jim), Alyce Nelson (Mike), Cecelia Arnold (Blake), Joe Lopez (Janine), John Lopez (Aimee), David Lopez (Veronica), Patricia Lopez, Elizabeth Lopez; 45 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
Alex was a dairyman, hay hauler and loader, tax consultant and entrepreneur who loved to tell stories. He was never too busy to help family or friends. He loved family and life.
Visitation will be, April 29 at Hillcrest Memorial Chapel from 5:00-9:00 p.m., recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass April 30 at St. Michael’s Chapel (1030 Brundage Ln.) at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
