Ana Maria Hernández was born on April 19, 1939, to her loving parents, Bautista and Francisca Ramos, in Barrio Barrial de Peñuelas, Puerto Rico. She was a loving wife to Francisco Hernández, with whom she shared a life dedicated to working their land and caring for their animals. Ana found joy in waking early each morning to cook her beloved arroz con gandules and sip her favorite café, a tradition she cherished.
Together, Ana and Francisco welcomed five wonderful children. She adored being a mother and took great pride in attending to her children’s needs, nurturing them with love and care. In the 1990s, Ana moved to Bakersfield, California, with her husband and children, embracing a new chapter filled with new opportunities and memories.
Ana was surrounded by loved ones when she peacefully passed away at her home on January 13, 2026 at the age of 86. She was a woman of many passions—she loved cooking, sewing, tending to her plants, listening to music, dancing, taking walks, and sharing jokes that brought smiles to everyone around her. She was also a devoted pet owner, loving her dogs Hannita and Suzy dearly.
Above all, Ana cherished her family. She took immense pleasure in spending time with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ana’s delicious cooking and open-hearted nature made her a beloved figure in the lives of all who knew her. Her gentle soul, caring heart, and sweet spirit will be forever remembered.
Ana Maria Hernández leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and warmth. Though she has departed from this world, her spirit lives on in our memories. We love you, Ana.
