Armida Jimenez was born on August 5, 1939, and went to be with the Lord on January 14, 2025. Armida was surrounded by her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren at the time of her passing.
Armida was born in Brawley, CA to Pastor Pablo Villarreal and Mercedes (Bracamonte) Villarreal. She and her family traveled throughout California from one migrant camp to another, until they settled in Bakersfield, CA: making it their home. She attended Lincoln Jr. High and graduated from Bakersfield High School in 1958. She soon thereafter met her husband.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Frank Jimenez. Children: Monica Rangel (Alvaro), Frank Jimenez Jr., Elizabeth Neri, and Deborah Amaya. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren, all of whom she loved and adored.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pablo and Mercedes Villarreal. Sisters: Rebecca Abarca, Henrietta Duarte, and Irene Villarreal (infant). Brothers: Rumaldo Tellez, David Villarreal, as well as multiple, nephews, nieces and son-in-law.
Our mother loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren wholeheartedly and unconditionally. She would do anything for them. Her love knew no bounds for children who were not her blood, for whom she taught along the way of her career as a Pre-School Teacher. She started her career in teaching at Bakersfield College HeadStart Center, under the direction of Ms. Josie Triplett, and later to Great Beginnings' Preschool, under the direction of Ms. Nellie Hernandez. She was idealized as a mother figure to several of our friends growing up.
Our mother was full of life and enjoyed seeing everyone have fun, especially during the holidays and her favorite time of the year “Halloween.” Her Halloween parties were always over the top and fun. Our mother was the most patient and strongest person we have ever known. We will be forever grateful for everything she has instilled in us all.
We would like to thank Ararat Hospice, nurses Sal and Natalie for their support. Thank you to Drs. Nurun Khandaker, Anila Chadha, and Gohar Gevorgyan for taking care of her health needs throughout the years.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 11am, Hillcrest Memorial Park (Funeraria Del Angel) in the chapel at 9101 Kern Canyon Rd., Bakersfield, CA, followed by the gravesite interment, at the Garden of Resurrection.
