Born on January 5, 1955, to Troy and Willadean Smith, Bobby grew up with a strong sense of family. He attended West High School, where he was a talented two-sport athlete, excelling as a running back in football and as a first baseman in baseball. After graduating in 1973, Bobby found great fulfillment working alongside his father and brother on the family's cotton farm- a career that brought him immense satisfaction and pride.
Bobby embraced family life wholeheartedly. As a devoted father, he cherished raising his daughters, Jaci and Haley. His love for his girls was evident in his unwavering dedication to providing for them and ensuring their happiness. In 2001, Bobby found true companionship when he met his devoted wife, Barbara. Together, they spent more than two decades building a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Their home was a sanctuary, filled with joy, the presence of their dogs, and the warmth of family.
Bobby found deep satisfaction in the simple pleasures of life. He was an enthusiastic cook, always experimenting with new recipes and perfecting his skills. Family gatherings often revolved around his legendary BBQ, where everyone was welcome to share a meal and enjoy each other's company. Bobby was an avid sports fan, with a particular love for college football-Go Sooners! He shared his passion for the game with his brother, Dennis, and anyone who was willing to join in the conversation. Known for his "do-it-yourself" spirit, Bobby was a true Mr. Fix-It. Whether it was tackling a home repair project or tackling an entire remodel, Bobby could always be counted on to get the job done- often after a quick search on YouTube.
Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Troy, and brothers, Larry and Dennis. He is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara; his mother, Willadean Smith; his daughters, Jaci and Haley (Mike); his stepchildren, Wendie (Ryan); Kelly (Ernie), Ryan, Felicia, and Danny (Nicole); 21 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren, all of whom he adored. Bobby will be remembered for his boundless love, work ethic, and his ability to make everyone feel welcome in his life and, above all, for being a truly good man.
