Bok K. Chin 1928 - 2010 Bok K. Chin, long time owner of Hong Kong Restaurant for over 45 years, passed away on August 1, 2010 at the age of 82. Bok was born in China on June 21, 1928, and came to Bakersfield at age 9. He was a veteran who served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He is survived by his loving wife, Mable of 63 years; his two sons, Ping and On, and their wives Hong and Diana; and his two granddaughters, Michele and Stephanie. Bok Chin was an honorable and respected man who was devoted to his family, and he touched the lives of many. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, and his memories will forever remain in the hearts of those he knew. His memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 7, at 10:00 a.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park Chapel. There will be a visitation on Friday, August 6, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
