

June 30th, 1947. He was the first child of five children of the late, Calvin Charles Brown II and Shirley Brown Roland. He came to
San Francisco with his family in the 1950’s.
After he graduated from George Washington High,
he enlisted in the Navy.
He fathered two children Fontana and Brian Brown.
He was also the grandfather of three grandchildren.
After college he completed a career as an underwriter for
Blue Shield in which he also held stock. After retirement, he used his stocks to purchase a boat, which was the many hobbies he enjoyed along with flying. He enjoyed the finer things in life, which included taking his mother Shirley Brown to five star restaurants. He also
frequently invited and enjoyed the company of friends and family while on vacation trips. Especially his son, nephews and brothers. Later in life, he spent the majority of his time at sea. In Cocas
DelToro, in Panama. From there he visited many other
countries, including Belize, Columbia, Venezuela, Trinidad and
many other Caribbean countries.
As he required assisted living, due to advanced aging, he moved to Bakersfield, CA to live with his brother and wife,
Darrel and Anna Brown.
Calvin leaves behind his mother, Shirley Brown Roland, five
brothers; Lavelle, Stanley, Darrel, Clifford, Mark and Monty.
Sisters: Vanessa Pride, Mei Ling and Brunilda. A son, Brian Brown and daughter Fontana Rashid. Three grandchildren, cousins,
nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles along with a number
of loving friends.
Calvin Charles Brown III will always be remembered as a stern,
loving, happy and strong man. He will be greatly missed and
remembered forever in our hearts….
